The Jamboree-on-the-Air, or JOTA, is an annual Scouting event that uses amateur radio to link Scouts around the world, around the nation, and in your own community. JOTA will be held at the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center this year.
This two-day Council event will be an opportunity for Scouts, Venturers and the public to participate in this worldwide event. There will be a full schedule of activities, booths and displays.
Visiting hours: Sat 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sun 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Open to everyone
Event patch available for purchase, $4 (while supplies last)
Campout Fee $30 – includes meals and event patch / “bring your own tents”
Must be currently registered in a Scouting Unit
Open to Scouts and Venturers
Three merit badges will be offered: Radio, Electricity, and Electronics. Prerequisites may be required and the space in each program will be limited.
Merit badge program is open only to participants attending the camping portion of the event. Some of the merit badge program may span both days.
All relevant BSA standards and the Guide to Safe Scouting will be followed.
