This Wilderness First Aid course will help you prepare for the unexpected with a fun, hands-on introduction to wilderness medical care. This course meets the wilderness first aid requirement for units trekking at national high adventure bases (Philmont, Sea Base, Northern Tier and The Summit) and for other back country outings. It is appropriate for Scouts and Scouters who want to become better prepared for emergencies. It also fulfills the core first aid requirement for the Venturing Ranger Award.

This course is 16 hours and you will be certified through the Emergency Care and Safety Institute. Similar courses can cost nearly $200; however the Orange County Council is excited to offer this course exclusive to registered Scouters for only $60. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory and you must have a current Basic First Aid/CPR/AED card.
