Here is the background on the USPS Community Organization Award.
There are eight recipients this year, which will be at the USPS Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL on Saturday, 6 February, 2010.
Orange County Council will have two recipients based on their outstanding civic, educational, and fraternal leadership and service with the Balboa Sail & Power Squadron of Newport Beach.
Daniel Stoica, Mate of National Flagship 2006 DELMAR will receive the award for adult service. He earned Quartermaster, Eagle and the Venturing Silver Award as a youth with the DELMARs and holds maritime skills certification as a Pilot with the United States Power Squadrons.
Ruben Hipolito will receive the award for youth service. He also earned the Quartermaster, Eagle and the Venturing Silver Award with National Flagship 2009 RENEGADEs and holds maritime skills certification as a Seaman with the United States Power Squadrons.

Michael Stewart, Skipper of National Flagship 2006 DELMAR received the award in 2005 for adult service. He is a Quartermaster and holds maritime skills certification as an Advanced Pilot.
Richard Cuciti, Commodore of the Orange County Sea Scout Squadron received the award in 2005 for adult service. He is a Quartermaster and Eagle Scout; and holds maritime certification as a Navigator.
David George, National Sea Scout Boatswain received the award in 2007 for youth service. He is a Quartermaster Sea Scout and holds maritime certification as a Seaman.
Wes Heusser, Chartered Organization Rep and Past Commander of Balboa Sail & Power Squadron, sponsor of National Flagship 2006 DELMAR received the award in 2009 for adult service. He holds maritime certification as a Junior Navigator.
