The Orange County Boy Scouts to Recognize its Top Volunteers
Santa Ana, CA – The Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America will recognize 20 of its top volunteers at the Annual Recognition Dinner, held March 30, 2011 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Garden Grove, CA.
This annual ceremony is held to acknowledge outstanding volunteer achievements for the previous year, including the Silver Beaver award, which is granted by the National Council, Boy Scouts of America, to volunteers who exhibit exceptional service to youth. The local Council is allotted a limited number of nominations yearly, making the Silver Beaver Award incredibly prestigious.
Established in 1931, the Silver Beaver is bestowed upon those whom have given continuous, effective and selfless youth service through the programs of the Boy Scouts of America. To receive the distinguished Silver Beaver award one must first be nominated by their Scouting peers; presentation of the award is then authorized by the National Council. The Orange County Council commends the twenty recipients of the Silver Beaver award for their outstanding contributions to the lives of youth in Scouting.
