NESA Youth Officers 2013

OC Council Currently Seeking 2014 NESA Chapter Youth Officers

Currently registered Eagle Scouts are encouraged to serve as Orange County Council NESA Chapter Youth Officers.    Youth officers are active, voting members of the NESA committee, providing leadership and service to strategic initiatives including the annual Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner, Eagle Scout alumni gatherings, Scout-0-Rama booth judging, and NESA membership development.

Youth officer positions include President, Vice President and eleven District Representatives.  Youth officers are expected to attend the monthly NESA chapter meetings and District Representatives are also expected to attend monthly district roundtables to help share our program and objectives with unit representatives.

Eagle Scouts who are interested in serving our council as a NESA Chapter Youth Officer should submit an application (PDF, WORD) to Marty Cutrone by October 25th.

Rob Nelsen

President

Rob Nelsen, 17 years old, was selected for his Scout accomplishments and for setting a good example by developing service projects to benefit others, such as Special Olympics and Special Education.
A sophomore at Tustin High School, Nelsen serves as class president and the ASB representative to the Parent-Teacher Organization and the THS School Site Council. A member of the varsity basketball team, Nelsen is a member of the leadership team for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, founder/coordinator for the on-campus RecycleNOW project, award-winner in Model United Nations and Academic Decathlon and the HOBY representative for Tustin High.  He has received grants from the Freedoms Foundation and the United States Achievement Academy.

After completing his service project for Special Olympics in May 2009, earned his Eagle Scout rank in June 2011 as a member of Troop 856 so that he could have his Board of Review the same night as his longtime friend.  The Irvine resident is a member of Sea Scout Ship, Del Mar.  His career goal is to become an attorney, specializing in corporate and government affairs/public policy law.

Hayden Hall, age 16; member of Troop 36, Canyons District; Received the 2012 Adams Service Project of the Year Award; JASM Troop 36.

Cole Glenwright

Regional Representative

Cole Glenwright, age 17; member of Troop 227, Pacifica District; Served as Assistant Scout Skills Director this summer at Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley.

Connor Morrell

Regional Representative

Connor Morrell, age 15; member of Troop 634, Saddleback District; Brotherhood Member Anasazi Chapter, Wiatava Lodge Order of the Arrow and NYJLT Trained.

Ryan Pugh

President Emeritus

Ryan Pugh, a 17 year old junior at JSerra Catholic High School, served as the NESA youth president in 2012. Pugh earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2010 as a member of Troop 772 where he is a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. During 2010, Pugh attended the National BSA Jamboree and served as Senior Patrol Leader for his Troop at Camporee and Encampment for the El Camino Real District. The Laguna Niguel resident was honored by his city on November 5, in recognition of his achievements. He plays soccer at JSerra Catholic High School where he’s also president of the school’s Venture Crew 872. He is an amateur radio operator for the South Orange Amateur Radio Association and a member of its Emergency Preparedness and Support Team. After high school, Pugh wants to attend the United States Naval Academy with the goal of becoming a Marine Corps officer.
