Andres began the Culinary Pathway his 8th Grade Summer in the Introduction to Baking Course offered at Los Amigos. He then proceeded to take the Culinary Arts, Baking and Event Catering Classes needed to complete the Hospitality Pathway! Still hungry for more Andy joined and later became President of both the Culinary Arts Club and Career Exploring Culinary Post 247 (Learning for Life and Exploring of Orange County) offered on the Los Amigos Campus.
In 2015, Andres was nominated and received the Young American Award at the Twenty-sixth Annual William H. Surgeon III Luncheon and would later use his award to help fund a life changing decision; after 4 years of Service and Commitment to the post; Andres “Andy” would apply to the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York; leaving California, his Friends and his Family behind.
In August 2016, Andy was accepted to The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. On February 12, 2017 he moved into his dorm and began his 4 year journey to Culinary Excellence; with goals of a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Food Science and an Associate’s Degree in Baking and Pastry “CHEF Andy” has set his sights high on the prize! The Culinary Institute (considered the Julliard of the Culinary World) has produced such Notable Graduates as Anthony Bourdain and Duff Goldman; Andy hopes to add his name to this list of renowned Celebrity Chefs.
