2007 Fall Recruitment Plan
As Scout leaders we have an obligation to provide the Scouting program to as many boys as possible. At one time or another we have all seen the positive influence Scouting has had on a boy, and/or a community. Recruiting new boys into Cub Scouts, whether Tiger Cub, Wolf, Bear, or Webelos Scouts, is also fundamental to maintaining a healthy and thriving Cub Scout unit. The most successful units are often the ones that place a premium on successfully recruiting new boys, and leaders, every year. Always remember that a successful recruitment means not just bringing new boys into the program, but new leaders as well. New leaders in a unit mean greater shared responsibility and less work for all of the current leaders in the unit. One of the most important ways in which a Cub Scout Pack benefits from the recruitment process is through the recruitment of not just boys, but leaders as well.
Your Cub Scout Pack is eligible for some great incentives if you hit your recruitment goal (which is established by you and your District Executive) and turn in the applications into the William Lyon Homes Center for Scouting by October 31. When you hit your recruitment goal, you will receive your choice of one of the following free prizes for every Cub Scout in your Pack:
- $2 Baskin & Robbin ice cream certificates
- Pinewood derby cars
- Raingutter regatta boats
- Space derby rockets
- $2 Scout bucks
Thank you for your participation in our fall recruitment program. The forms included here will help you with the recruitment process. Start with the Pack Recruitment Instruction Booklet for an explanation on the recruiting process. Set your recruitment goals with your District Executive using the Pack Incentive Form. After establishing your recruitment goal, map out the recruitment process with your District Executive using the Pack Recruitment Agreement. This will outline the process, with who is doing what, on one page. Use the Pack Organization Worksheet to see what additional volunteer leaders are needed. Complete the Flyer and Material Order Form with your District Executive’s help to get the promotional materials you need for your recruitment night. The Recruitment Presentation is a power point presentation that you can customize to explain the Cub Scouting program at your recruitment night.
Thank you for your help with the recruitment process. The staff is here to help in any way possible to ensure your recruitment success. Contact your District Executive or Ken Tucker at 714-546-4990 for more information on the recruitment process.
