Directions From Orange County:
Take the Riverside (91) Freeway to Corona.  Take Interstate 15 South through Lake Elsinore to Highway 79 South LEFT (exit towards Indio not toward Hemet).  Continue south on Highway 79 through Temecula for approximately 30 miles (you will pass Vail Lake, Oak Grove and little spots like the Stage Coach Inn.

LEFT to Chihuahua Valley Road drive approximately 6.5 miles to the dirt road entrance will be straight ahead as the road makes a sharp right.  A Boy Scout sign is at the right of the dirt road.  Schoepe Scout Reservation awaits you at the end of an 10-mile scenic journey along this road.  Drive slowly, but pull over for those who may know the road and wish to safely travel faster than you.

Directions From the Ontario Area:
Take Interstate 10 east to Interstate 15.  Go south on Interstate 15 to Temecula (approx. 38 miles).  Exit California Route 79 South (towards Indio).  Go through Aguanga and Oak Grove (approx. 25 miles).  Three miles past Oak Grove, turn left on Chihuahua Valley Road and go about 6 miles.  

The road makes a sharp, 90 degree turn to the right. Straight ahead is a dirt road that is marked “Lost Valley”. Follow this scenic dirt road for approximately 11 miles into camp.

Upon arrival, contact the camp ranger staff, adjacent to the parking lot. They will assist you in locating your campsite and taking care of your essential needs. The staff will also coordinate with you those program facilities which you requested and have been confirmed in advance with your reservation.

Directions from Orange County:

Located 11 miles south of San Clemente, off of the Interstate 5.  From Orange County, take the San Diego Freeway (5) south.  Eleven miles after San Clemente, exit at the Las Pulgas off-ramp - head inland and stop at the U.S Marine Corps guard station.  Present your driver's license, proof of insurance and current vehicle registration and enter Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base.  Past the gate, follow the road to the right, at the split in the road - go right and then continue to the entrance to the camp, which will be on the right (look for the brown barn as a landmark). Directions:

The Newport Sea Base is located on Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy. 1) in Newport Beach, CA.  From the north use the San Diego (I-405) or Golden State/Santa Ana (I-5) freeway. From the East take San Bernardino (I-10) to I-215 south to the Riverside (I-91) west. From the south use the Golden State/Santa Ana (I-5) north. Take any of these freeways to the Costa Mesa (55) freeway south. The Costa Mesa (55) freeway ends and becomes Newport Blvd. Stay on Newport Blvd. past 17th street. Several blocks down you will pass Hospital Road. Get in the right lane for the off-ramp to Hwy 1 or Pacific Coast Hwy. Turn left to head south on Hwy 1. Go past Riverside Ave. and Tustin Ave. You will pass Ardell Yachts and then Duffy Boats. The Newport Sea Base is the next driveway on the right. Park on the side away from the water if possible. Get customized map and driving directions.

Directions:

Los Angeles / North Orange County Areas

From the 405 and 5 Freeways take the 131 Toll Road North and then the 241 Toll Road South (Approx. 12 miles) - Exit on Los Alisos Blvd. and head North a few hundred feet and make an immediate left turn at the first driveway and you will see the Oso Lake sign and lake.  Proceed down the road through the gate and stay right on the paved / gravel road to the boat launch and parking area.

Riverside Areas

From the 91 Freeway take the 241 Toll Road South (Approx. 24 miles) - Exit on Los Alisos Blvd. and head North a few hundred feet and then make an immediate left turn at the first driveway and you will see the Oso Lake sign and lake.  Proceed down the road through the gate and stay right on the paved / gravel road to the boat launch and parking area.

South Orange County / San Diego Areas

From the 5 Freeway North take Oso Parkway East to the 241 Toll Road North (Approx. 10 miles) - Exit on Los Alisos Blvd. and head North a few hundred feet and then make an immediate left turn at the first driveway and you will see the Oso Lake sign and lake.  Proceed down the road through the gate and stay right on the paved / gravel road to the boat launch and parking area.
