Membership

The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated to provide a program for community organizations that offers effective character, citizenship, and personal fitness training for youth. Click here to join us and a District Executive will contact you soon.

Membership is important.  Membership means registration with the Boy Scouts of America.  This entails the submission of an application by a young person (with parent or guardian approval) to a unit leader, payment of a membership fee, acceptance by the unit and local council,  and issuance of  an official registration card.  Scouting has purposes:

  • To influence the development of character and encourage spiritual growth
  • To develop habits and attitudes of good citizenship
  • To encourage good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body
  • To improve understanding within the family
  • To strengthen the ability to get along with other boys and respect other people
  • To foster a sense of personal achievement by developing new interests and skills
  • To show how to be helpful and do one's best
  • To provide fun and exciting new things to do
  • To prepare boys to become Boy Scouts
