Canoe your way around Upper Newport Bays' Ecological Reserve with an experienced naturalist as you explore one of Southern California's best kept secrets during this 3 hour family activity.  See wildlife up-close in this peaceful sanctuary for thousands of plants, fish, amphibians, mammals and birdds.  After touring the reserve, enjoy a barbeque with friends and family.  This event is open to the first 40 applicants.   Participants receive a certificate of participation and an event patch. 

Where: Newport Aquatic Center (NAC), One Whitecliffs Dr., Newport Beach

Dates:

April 12, May 10, June 14, July 12, Sept. 13 or Oct. 11, 2008

Time: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm (1 and 1/2 hours on the water, dinner at 6:00 pm)

Requirements: Must be at least 10 years old and a swimmer! Closed toe shoes are a must!

Fee: $30 per person, non-refundable (includes barbeque dinner-Hamburgers, Gardenburgers, Hot Dogs, Chili, Green Salad, Potato Salad, Cookies, Candy, Water and Soda)

Directions to the NAC:

From the beach: PCH to Dover Dr.  Right on Westcliff Dr.  Right at first and second stop signs, Right on Whitecliffs Dr., The NAC will be on your left. 

From the Freeway: 55 Fwy to 17th St. and take a left.  Left on Dover Dr.  Right on Westcliff Dr. Right at first and second stop signs.  The NAC will be on your left.
