Fishing... as American as apple pie and baseball.  Oso Lake is a young fisherman's paradise.  With 100-acre lake and 15 acres of land, Oso Lake offers many programs: water conservation, catch-and-release bass fishing, boating, paleontology and camping skills.  Located near Rancho Santa Margarita and surrounded by o'Neil Regional Park, Oso Lake is easily accessible to all units.  Located in the heart of Orange County, Oso Lake is quickly becoming one of the most popular water front camps in Southern California.

The facilities feature a small archery range, large camping areas (perfect for first time campers), a multi-level pavilion and amphitheater. Proximity to O’Neil Regional Park provides ample hiking and orienteering opportunities and the campsite areas are perfect for first year campers to practice their skills.

The camping areas are currently being developed.  As of January 2006, the campsites are covered in a soft layer of woodchips, potable water is available from a spigot and port-o-johns are located adjacent to the camping areas.  There is limited shade and no electricity in the camping areas at this time.
