Beyond the Call of Duty: Spotlight on Exceptional Volunteer Efforts
Thousands of volunteer leaders, both men and women, are involved in the Boy Scouting program. They serve in a variety of jobs — everything from unit leaders to chairmen of
troop committees, committee members, merit badge counselors, and chartered organization representatives.
A recent examle of OCBSA volunteers who give beyond what is expected of them took place in late March at "Kinder Caminata."
Chuck Throop of Canyons District from Pack 546 led organizational efforts. Approximately 1,200 Kindergarten-aged children classes were bussed to Fullerton Colleges to participate in a mock "job fair."
Representing OCBSA in a memorable way, John Norment from Pack 235 dressed up in Tigger costume with a Tiger hat and handed out Cub Scouting flyers with Rebekah (Bekah) Havard from the Los Amigos District.
