Golf Marathon

 ...

On October 27, 2008, up to 40 golfers will risk sunstroke, exhaustion, blisters and downpours as they chase, hack, chip, putt and slice their way to 100 holes of golf in a day at Strawberry Farms Golf Club. You can be a part of the action by participating as a golfer or supporting a golfer.

Proceeds from the Inaugural Golf Marathon will benefit more than 54,000 local youth members of the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America, providing quality outdoor programs that focus on leadership, character development and community service.

You can participate as a golfer by completing the attached form and agreeing to raise a minimum of $3,000 through private or corporate sponsorships or you can sponsor a golfer at $1.00, $2.00 or even $5.00 per hole. Or, if you prefer, donate a flat amount for the entire marathon.

For only $350 you can enjoy corporate recognition using your corporate name or logo at your very own hole as a hole sponsor. Donations are fully tax deductible.

Each golfer is invited to raise $3,000 in pledges (or $10,000 per foursome) to support local Scouting programs. As a ‘thank you’ from the council, each golfer will receive a golfer gift pack. The day begins with a continental breakfast in the clubhouse before the shotgun start at 7:30 am. Box lunches will be served at noon and after play appetizers will be available in the clubhouse beginning at 4:00 pm. Top raising winners will receive special prizes.
