Adventure Base 100

Experience Scouting like never before with Adventure Base 100! Created specifically for the 100th Anniversary Celebration, Adventure Base 100 is traveling the country to give people an exciting, hands-on view of the history and future of the Boy Scouts of America.

This 10,000 square foot campus features immersive Scouting experiences including a ropes course and zip line, interactive digital exhibits, a multi-sensory IMAX-like dome, and more! It will also house a traveling museum that will showcase real artifacts from the National Scouting Museum in Irving, Tex.

Starting at the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif. in January, and ending at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York in November, this magnificent traveling exhibit will stop at key events and locations in more than 40 cities.

Orange County will be supporting the AB100 Traveling Scouting Exhibit on Sunday, January 3rd, 2010 in Pasadena, CA. We are currently taking registrations for volunteers to help run this 10,000 square foot campus, which features immersive Scouting experiences including a ropes course and zip line, interactive digital exhibits, a multi-sensory IMAX-like dome, and more! It will also house a traveling museum that will showcase real artifacts from the National Scouting Museum in Irving, Tex.

Volunteers Needed!

Option 1 – The Council needs 80 to 100 volunteers to help run the exhibits. Volunteers will receive free entry to the Tournament of Roses Post-Parade area, collectible shoulder loops, and an AB100 ball cap. Volunteers can choose the morning shift (7:00 am to 12:00) or the afternoon shift (11:00 am to 4:00 pm). This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is open to 1st Class Scouts and above with a parent or as a Troop (with tour permit).

Option 2 – If you or your unit has a talent or a demo they would like to share on the AB100 stage, the Council would love to have you come up and show off your Scouting spirit and experience. Performers will receive free entry to the Tournament of Roses Post-Parade area. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have some fun and come up and see all the floats up close (for free) is open to all Scouts with a parent or as a Pack, Den, Troop, or Patrol (with tour permit).
